When you decide to change your blog layout, you might confused what kind template should you choose.
I try to give several tips that might help you to optimized your change layout process. .
1. Decide when you will have free time to searching and editing your new layout.
If you already spare your time to editing your layout, focus with it and do it at once. It will be faster than when you do it slowly when you have free time. Beside that, your visitor will not feel uncomfortable with your progress layout.
2. Decide what type template do you like
You can see that my favorite template is 3 columns. I always decide that I will find 3 columns template than searching all template and pick it. It save your time. You will save more if you already decide what type of your new template. For example, I use “3 columns green wordpress template” to find this new layout.
3. Finding one that fits
If your blog is about white water rafting but the blog template you ended up choosing originally has a picture of a subway station in the header, it is a complete mismatch between design and content. So you want to make sure that what you present visually matches what the content of what people are reading.
4. Find the template layout than template color
Umh.. I mean.. I prefer to choose template base on the positioning than it color/banner. We can change the color/image at Style.css (if wordpress) until it suitable with our desired.
5. Download more than 1 template
Sometimes that seemingly perfect template just doesn’t seem to do your blog justice once you actually upload it and install it. So as you find various templates, save them and upload them. Then you have a few different ones to try out and once, so you can easily compare then, check for any odd bugs, and pick the one you think compliments your blog the most. Don’t forget, you can always remove the ones you don’t ultimately end up with if you want, so download all those “maybe” templates too, it wouldn’t be the first time that a “maybe” template actually ends up being the perfect fit after it is tried out on the actual blog, instead of viewing a screenshot of it in action.
Hope this help. I only need less than 1 day to change my layout including editing many part.
Actually I still have problems with my current template. My Brian plugin cant work well in this new layout. I think I should check the CSS again. But I still dont have time. Thats why I still cant reply your comment. So sorry. Hope I can fix it ASAP.
