As U know, my blog lost their PageRank at this google page rank update. And my video blog lost it traffic from search engine. Its weird. I was get more than 80 Unique IP/day and suddenly ZERO. So I learn from various article what SEO mistakes that I did.
1. Pages with duplicate content – not enough differential areas within the pages, so that only small areas of the page change from page to page. In my video blog case, if I upload episode 1-10, I only change the video and the film review and the actor explanation not change at all. So I did duplicate content. I should add more information about the synopsis each episode.

2. Pages with duplicate page titles – the page title is a great indicator to the search engines of the primary content of the page. It also happen when I upload for example “Dr Koto Shinryoujou Eps 1″ and the next only change into “Dr Koto Shinryoujou Eps 2″ . It duplicate page titles. I suggest to created the title. For example “Dr Koto Shinryoujou The Soul That Cant Be Helped”

3. Pages with duplicate meta descriptions – again, this is easy to overlook and set a global or category level meta description. Too much same meta generation. Can U imagine I also do copy and paste for meta generation for each episode. And if you want to make tag NEVER repeat the titlle. For example : Cute Joji Shibue, Bishounen Joji Shibue, Japan actor Joji Shibue. That will count as duplicated Meta. You only need to write “Cute, handsome, bishounen, Japan, Joji Shibue”

4. Using auto-generation of pages as a shortcut instead of creating good content. This is linked quite closely to point 1, where it is possible to create pages that have only a tiny percentage difference between them. Databases are fantastic ways of storing information, but you still need to put the work in to fill them with content. Unique information about the subject of the page will immensely help both the long tail and the ability of the search engines to determine that a page is valuable. I;m not using this method. So I’m safe. weheheh

5. Creating pages that are hidden behind form submissions or javascript postbacks that cannot be accessed by a search engine crawler. This is far more common that is generally realized. Try not hide anything. Esp for cheated ads. I saw many people with unsupported language for adsese using this way to generated their ads (to make their ads shown)

6. Too many query strings – this is a common bugbear of the professional SEO, where complicated database selections create deep levels of pages, but with seven or eight &id= type strings. Additionally, some bad development methodology can leave pages with null query strings that appear in every URL but don’t do anything. The answer to this is generally URL rewrites, creating much more search engine friendly and user-friendly URLs!

Actually there is still 4 another mistakes that I get from obs-group.co.uk. But since I dont understand what is auto generator, so I will not write it. Thx to Mark Stubbs for a great article

Hope we can avoid those mistakes to keep traffic come to our site.
