Hm… I read a lot of news at SEO mailing list also web news and many blog that Google Decreased many site Pagerank. Most people drop from PR 7 to 5, 6 to 4 or the worst 3 to 0!!!

I’m still lucky my PR stable in 4. Alhamdulillah…… I’m panic when hear the info since I almost never make new article since I’m working at office and they dont give me internet access. And I already resign but not stay at BINUS anymore so I will not get internet also T___T

I already look around and its surprising me the impact is really affect many blog. I gather some information.  Hope it help to let you know why your pagerank decreased that harsh T__T

If you lost pagerank, I have some tips

1. Stay Calm and not panic
2. Try to check it with another PR checker. I was being checked 0 but with another 3 PR checker, I still get PR 4.
3. Try to search to internet what actually happen.
4. Improve Your Site
5. Diversify
6. Reevaluate

There is still NO EXACT REASON why google decrease many site PR. But here is some idea and hope it help

• Paid Linking : You know, some site buy link to other site which have high PR to get better PR. Maybe it forbidden right now.
• Mass Linking : Do we link out to too many sites via Blog Rolls? Does Linkbait just result in TOO MANY links, even if they are natural. Do blog networks use influential linking to their advantage? I think PageRank has been spread too thin and Google is changing its PageRank formula to address the mass publishing which has taken place over the past 2 years.
• Devalue PageRank : PageRank is seen by many as the end all value of a web site. Our PageRank dropped but we are receiving more Google search traffic than ever. PageRank does not define site rankings in Google or traffic and it should not be mistaken as so.
• Kill the Paid Link Market : If Paid Linking houses use PageRank as a pricing metric, then eliminating or devaluing PageRank will devalue paid linking

So.. when Ur PR is drop, what will you do? Here some tips to gain pagerank again

* Diversify your traffic. Not only from Blogwalking, try to gain traffic from forum, community or maybe email.

* Provide quality information and free products or services that get ‘good word of mouth’ recommendations from your visitors. Content will always be king.

* Pick the right domain name.

* Be extremely careful of any out-going links from your site. Don’t link to bad neighborhoods (link farms, banned sites, etc.) Google will penalize you for bad links so always check the PageRank of the sites you’re linking to from your site.

* Onsite SEO factors does have an influence on rankings — make sure your site is dressed to kill. Pay attention to keyword density, title descriptions, meta tags, alt tags and interior linking structure. If you can, optimize your site for all three major search engines: MSN, Yahoo and Google. But don’t stop there, also submit your site to the countless other smaller search engines on the web. It’s the old adage, don’t put all your eggs into the ever-changing Google basket or you’re probably turn your site and yourself into one desperate basket case.
